"Pedico - Nixon Now"

Based out of NYC and representing New York localism, Pedico are 3 guys that are all about being shirtless. Focused on raw energy and authenticity rather than overindulgent instrumental virtuosity and synthetic bs, they write songs about urban life, cheese, transvestites, body surfing cheap beer, laundromats, red sports cars, bathroom parties, Martin Lawrence, Boone's Farm beverages, puking in the pool of the Courtyard Marriot, eating cheetos on the couch all day and babes babes babes! Pedico are BEER SWILLING TUBE JUNKIES

They are all brothers (same mother, different fathers) and have been playing together since they were in middle school.
Chris: Drums, Cowbells, Newport Mediums.
Craig: Bass, Vocals, Theramin, Hair Gel.
Jake: Vocals, Guitar, Boogie Boarding.

Move your lazy asses over to bandcamp to check their full length digital album "Big 'Uns".
The song "testarosa!" is a killer!

"New NYC Punk Discovery: Pedico - "Nixon Now""

If you like punk rock, you will love the music of Pedico - fast, loud and melodic, it embodies the best qualities of the punk/surf/beach aesthetic you will remember from all-time great punk rockers like The Ramones. It's built on some terrific drumming - especially on the first two tracks - fast guitars and tight vocal harmonies, and these guys do the loud, fast punk thing quite well.

Here's "Nixon Now", which gets it done in 1:34. As Mama Ramone's boys once proved, if you can get it done in a minute or so, why hang around any longer?

And here's "Bachelor Pad" - for a change of pace, they spend a little time in the lo-fi grunge area (think Wavves, Ty Segall) before heading back to Ramones territory for the chorus:

One more - a little out of season, maybe, but tell me you don't have room for a punk version of a Chuck Berry Christmas song. - When You Motor Away...

"big ‘uns"

Lost in all the over-produced bullshit that fills my inbox thinking it will fool me into writing about it by sounding robotically flawless sat Pedico. Oh, Pedico- you just dont care at all, do you? For every musician with his/her head buried in the sands of midi effects there’s an equally qualified, equally astute individual or group of individuals living completely in the moment to moment wave that is punk rock. Yes, it sounds contrived but in the deepest caverns, punk is contrived. - Dingus

"N.Y. band catches the surf-punk wave"

Punk-rock is at its best when it is not taking itself so seriously. That is why we love bands like Pedico.

These New York newcomers are more concerned with surfing and guzzling Boone’s Farm than political activism, and it is really refreshing. Check out this super rad video for the band’s track, “Nixon Now.” The video features a tatted-up chick shaving her face (?) and two dudes surfing on a folding table inside a subway car.

We hate to drop the tired Ramones comparison, but Pedico’s sound is very similar to the New York punk pioneers. If you check out the band’s SoundCloud page (click photo below), you will find a handful of songs that revel in the same kind of debauchery that bands like FIDLAR have so successfully celebrated.

“You Can’t Get AIDS If You Never Get Tested,” embodies the rude, rebellious spirit of early punk-rock bands. The concept of this song is so morally bankrupt and offensive, but that is precisely the point. If a punk band is not offending anyone, it is not doing its job. Pedico manages to do its job while having a shitload of fun. - DMVicious
