Bio

Peixoto & Maxado gather the wishes of a few friends of having fun by composing arranging and performing good music.
Back in july, 2009, the guys took some days off from their bands and jobs, went to a country house some miles away from Sao Paulo, cell phones and emails and started working on some compositions by Eduardo "Peixoto" Faiguenboim, and Felipe "Maxado" Machado. The two singers shared a love for jamaican music, it's rhythm and its beautiful melodies and started working together a few weeks earlier on what was supposed to become a ska / rocksteady album.
Along with Fabio, Meno & Mauro (members of the band, the three of them multiinstrumentalists and rock' and rollers), the work started to get a lot of different influences, what resulted in a sound that is a blend jamaican rhythm and melodies, rock guitars, a lot of brass, some latin twist and very peculiar arrangements. The result brought so much joy to the participants that they decided to travel to NY to have the album mixed by Victor Rice and then, mastered by Stephen Marcussen, in LA.
“I Wanna Shoyu”, the result of this prolongued weekend, is an album of 14 songs, twelve original tunes and versions of "Sounds of Silence", by Simon and Garfunkel and "Maria Bethania" by Brazil's Caetano Veloso.
If they believed that fun was over after the trip, they all proved to be wrong. Since november 2009 the band has been performing in Brazil and in Argentina and, the repetition Just seems to make everything even more enjoyable.
In january P&M are taking some days off from work again to work hard on their second álbum and, judging by everybody’s expectations, it Will be even more fun!
