''PELOTON started as Halston and Zach playing shows together as an insturmental two piece. They played epic sludgey,classic rock by way of some cool 90s post rock bands ala HUM and SHELLAC. Denniz heard their demo and loved it,he previously played with Halston in a band called Fight Pretty that toured all of the time and since they were now defunct he had too much time on his hands and a notebook full of lyrics that came across as someone in a fever dream sitting across from you at a party neither of you belong at and feeding you the tales of a underground scene riddled with hard drugs and soft lighting. He writes lyrics full of double entendres and vauge truths. Something like tall tales that you somehow know are honest except for instead of paul bunyan its a drug dealer and a few dozen relationships turned sour. A warning of ''stay away, this could happen to you.'' They played a few shows as a three piece with great reaction before adding melissa on bass. She plays bass like a bolt gun kills cattle with Accuracy,precision and brutality. With the current line up PELOTON has just release a 10'' entitled ''Twist off their heads'', and they sound completely fresh, nothing to compare it to besides a audio equal to the visual of a Dario Argento gorgeously artistic kill scene and a mix of their influences (Helmet,Hum,Swans,Shellac,The birthday party etc.) So yeah,its thinking man's metal and indie rock's heaviest flask all wrapped up in a nice gift wrapped package that wont stop ticking when you put your ear up to the box.''- slicelo
