"Danny Masters"

Electric Babylon is Denver-based guitarist Danny Masters' fiery, mostly instrumental CD (5 of the 14 tracks are vocal numbers), featuring metal-inflected guitar maelstroms, dynamic displays of technical wizardry, sensitive blues magic--and that's just for openers! Produced and engineered by Four Estate guitarist Dave Beegle, the sound quality throughout Electric Babylon is superb, allowing maximum enjoyment of tracks such as the Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute, "Texas Wind", the heavy hard rock and ripping, jagged riffs of "Black Diamond Run" and the Middle-Eastern inspired textures in "A Christian In India". Fans of modern guitar playing should check out Danny Masters and the intensity he brings to the forefront on Electric Babylon.

Originally from New York, Danny began playing guitar at age 12. He started playing with other musicians in Denver in 1979 where he has been continuously performing with numerous bands around the club circuit. Danny has been teaching guitar for the past 16 years and has studied classical and jazz guitar at the University of Northern Colorado. He was on both the Dean's List of Academic Honor and Dean's List of Distinction and received a Bachelor of Music Degree He won a Graduate School Scholarship from the University of Denver where he later received his Master of Arts. Danny has been in the bands Zuriel, Electric Playground and Mr. Hyde. In 1993, he won the KBPI Steve Vai guitar contest and was featured in an on-air jam with Vai.

Masters currently teaches 50-60 students a week at the Colorado School of Music as well as classes at the Community College of Aurora. He is devoting himself to the Danny Masters Band in support of the release of Electric Babylon.

Rocktacular musicianship takes center stage with Masters and company. Each of the tunes –– two instrumentals “Dominion” and “Turbine,” and Lori Gorklo’s husky, Bon Jovi-esque vocal number, “Show Me The Rain” –– allows the band to wail prodigiously. In particular, Masters’ fret fluency is dazzling (sometimes recalling the tasty virtuosity of Dickie Betts) as notes fly like feathers at a chicken fight. The band’s catchy instrumentals could be attractive to film/TV folks.

Guitarist Danny Masters returns to the hard rock fold with the pumping CD, Keepers Of The Time. Filled top to bottom with some seriously cookin' guitar wail, the disc contains eight vocal tracks (most with Masters on vocals) and seven diverse instrumental numbers, including the wistful "Waggy's Gnomon" as well as the high energy variety that Masters has made his name on, including "Turbine", "Vienna", "Floyd Hill", "Capacity", "Snake Eyes" and "Dominion". Keepers Of The Time was also co-produced by Fourth Estate guitarist/producer Dave Beegle, so fans of Fourth Estate, Gary Hoey and Eric Johnson should give a careful listen and sample Masters' latest outing. Bio

Penchant is a rock band formed in 2007 out of Denver, Colorado. The principle songwriters are a husband and wife team, Dan Gorklo on guitar and Lori Gorklo on vocals and rhythm guitar. Lori hails from Los Angeles California where she performed with various bands up and down the coast. She moved to Denver where she met Dan a local guitar teacher and performer. They share a love of rock, blues and classical music which shapes their writing style. Greg Blankenship adds the solid bottom with five string bass lines as he lays it down with drummer Dwayne Hofstetter. The music is a varied yet cohesive combination of electric and acoustic guitar sounds, imaginative vocal lines and picturesque lyrics.
