Ok..I hope this sounds right. I don't even know where to start
without making this into a book. So it's me, Orlando Smith, 23
year old singer songwriter sitting out here in the middle of Hagerstown, Maryland. I know you probably never heard of that...But..onto the Bio.This is me, Orlando, and i love food, movies, money, fashion, music, space, and other things too like video games, technology, other places other than Hagerstown, Md, my dog Kissie, as well as other things. But this is my music bio so I will try to keep it just as that. Can I tell you something though? A bio is harder to type than I thought. I want it to sound like me but bio-ish as well. Anyways, onto the music. It all started one day...I don't know exactly the date, but it started. Timbaland one of those hot beats was playing I don't know if it was a Kiley Dean, or a Bubba Sparxx, or some Aaliyah, Missy, I have no clue but you did it. Aspiring 15 year old producer I had the Hottest fruity loop beats you could imagine. LOL and I loved every minute of it I swore I was about to become the next Timbaland Protege, but something happened on another day, years later I produced from 15 to 19 moving from Fruity Loops to Reason where I started banging out some good tracks, beats and style got better and better. The day something else happened, though, was the day I was a songwriter. And no, this isn't no pretending to be a songwriter, but knowing that is what you are. Well lets speed this up to today 23, defined style...strong lyrical content, subject matter, fresh vocal melodies, and arrangements, different ideas, and a strong point of view, blending with hard drum patterns, emotional, yet defining melodies, power ballads, rock ballads, urban rock, pop rock, soul pop, I have no genre. Well I kinda do, Urban/Pop/Rock/Soul/Experimental ...Im mixed all up in there...I love Keri Hilson...that is my chick...I understand her, and I think she is real. Shes my favorite female writer and I love her voice. Ne-Yo is probably the most consistent and is my favorite Male writer in the game. Esther Dean, another favorite female writer, and her voice is crazy different, I love it, as you can see, im defining my influences artist and writer wise to give you an idea of something. Ill keep going Claude Kelly, another favorite male writer. Johntha Austin, another favorite male writer. Cristyle <---hot female writer, James Fauntleroy, of course Justin Timberlake, Rico Love. I have others as well but you get the point. Artist wise though, and as you will hear in my music I love everywhere from Neyo to Esther Dean to Celine Dion, to Santigold, to One Republic, to Missy, Biggie, The Veronicas, Toni Braxton, Lil Wayne, Jazmine Sullivan, Miguel, Robyn,John Legend<---another favorite, Keri Hilson, Justin Timberlanke, Nikki Flores, Bruno Mars, Adam Lambert, Usher, Rihanna, Michael Jackson, Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Lady Gaga, i mean the list goes on and on and on. You get the point. And Producerwise TIMBALAND, DANJAHANDZ <----WITHOUT A DOUBT MY 2 FAVORITES EVER, Neptunes, Boi-1da, Stargate, Drumma Boy, Jim Jones, of course Polow Da Don, and more but...YOU GET THE POINT. YOU SEE WHERE I WANT TO GET, YOU SEE WHERE I AM GOING. NOW I AM GOING TO GIVE U ME
My style is different..very URBAN, yet can be very POP, can be very ROCKISH, can have a touch of SOUL. THAT IS ME. I HAVE PERSONALITY AND I DARE MYSELF TO BE LIMITED BY ONE STYLE. Shoot...u might hear me singing "Jolene" with Dolly Parton...most likely not, but..YOU GET THE POINT.
As for my purpose?!?! My purpose is to become a top notch writer, first and foremost as well as a devloping artist.
I AM A WRITER. I WILL TAKE THAT BEAT AND WRITE AN EMOTION. AND U WILL FEEL IT. IVE BEEN THRU LIFE, AND AM CONTINUING TO EXPERIENCE.
