Bio

Penmanship in plastic is Dave Packles (drums), Pete Giannelli (guitars), Conrad Ferrer (vocals), and Joel Ortiz (bass guitar). After meeting for the first time in biology class at bergen community college, Pete and Conrad (Con) became good friends, they actually got along so well that when the semester ended they felt the need to admit to each other that if they weren’t EXTREMELY heterosexual they would be a perfect match (awkward silence). Pete and Con decided to take their love of music and their talents and start a band. Soon after on an exciting Saturday night at I-hop, they were blessed by the presence of Mr. Joel Ortiz former childhood friend of Con. They all got acquainted with each other and after Joel finished ordering a few corn cakes, a new addition was added to the un-named band. Fast forward to Dec. 2003 when Pete, Con, and Joel met Mr. Packles. They met via the World Wide Web, through a classified ad titled “Drummer Needed in Bergen County”. Little did they know that Dave wasn’t your ordinary drummer, they would soon be making music with a master of percussion. The first time they played together it was unanimous; they felt they had something special. They all agreed that they did not feel the need to fall into any specific genre, and that they want to focus on song structure, composition, and musicianship. They chose to name themselves Penmanship in Plastic. The idea behind Penmanship in Plastic is that the band has taken all of their emotions, fused them together into an art that’s wrapped in plastic, and presented to the people to unfold.
