Glasgow’s latest alt pop rock contenders, Penny and The Restless, launch their debut EP ‘Breathe’ when they support King Louis at The Captain’s Rest on Friday 1 April at 8pm.
Already creating a buzz online through Facebook, Twitter and Reverbnation (where they currently sit at number 12 in the Glasgow charts) and garnering critical plaudits aplenty from various music biz veterans, Penny and The Restless have been influenced by an intriguing blend of Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Incubus, Lissie and Paolo Nutini.
The band are: Penny Lamb (vocals and guitar); Paul Ferri (lead guitar and bass); Martin Malloy (bass and guitar) and Blair Andrews (drums).

Penny and the Restless is a young band from Glasgow. They describe their style as pop/rock. ,with their melodic guitar riffs, the rhythm holding bass and atmosphere building drums they are very trendy. The leading lady Penny is a very attractive young woman with a beautiful soft and soothing vocal.
The audience went mad for Penny before she even opened her mouth. Penny was very comfortable on stage and with her emotional lyrics she gave off the sense of feeling on every word in a well constructed performance. The band has a very fresh, catchy, contemporary sound to them and kindly made their new album ‘Breathe’ available at the gig as well as other cool merchandise. - www.yrock.co.uk
