"Smart Punk Review"

Rating 3 1/2 out of 5

"Poppy Rock music with heart and harmonically driven. The music has pop undertones without entirely straying from the rock path. THIS IS A SOLID EFFOT AND A DEBUT THAT WILL SURELY PUT THIS BAND ON THE MAP." - Smart Punk

Bio

Life is too short, and too many hold on to that which they cannot keep! Pennylane, knows what it means to live hard by letting go. While most 20 something year olds are quickly becoming doctors, teacher, business people, and lawyers, Pennylane has spent the last year becoming a real band. Letting go of self securities, Pennylane left behind their home s in Hawaii to live where the music takes them. This freedom has not come cheap. Living homeless, and jobless for a while until finally scraping by on parttime jobs, just so they could play music, they found Portland Oregon as their place to start. With the signing of their demo for re-release on Indie Vision Music, Pennylane is ready to rock any town that will let them touch down in! With traces of influences like Jimmy Eat World, Juliana Theory, MxPx, Third Eye Blind, as well as harder influnces like Norma Jean and At the Drive In, Pennylane has created a familiar yet unique sound that is both infectious and powerful. Coming from Hawaii, they are just greatful to be living the dream-playing music in a band all over the place! And this freedom and release is very evident in their shows. Their set ranges from powerful fist punching to beautifully tantilizing. Just listen, and you will find music that tells of life lived freely, which is life lived indeed.
