"Dedicated to the music: Local teens form band to inspire other musicians"

Five local teens believe their dedication and desire has given them something special to offer the music world.
People Who Could Fly has only been together for a few months but the group of five teens, ages 18 to 15, has several original songs written and has already performed live across the Valley.

They’ve done it all while attending high school, taking honors courses, participating in extra curricular activities and balancing a social life.
“It’s all about dedication and a passion for it,” said rhythm guitarist Levi Siwek, 15. “You can’t hate it. We all love playing our individual instruments and combining it is just fun.”

Siwek said he got interested in playing music from listening to it. He always knew he wanted to play rock like the music his dad listened to. It’s the same story as well for other members of the group.

Jacob Paige, 16, and Josh Paige, 18, have both been interested in playing instruments for years. For them it was all about finding the right fit. Jacob plays bass and keyboard for the band while Josh has found drums to be his specialty.
The teens have each been members of other bands before. People Who Could Fly formed when the Paige brothers merged their band with that of Siwek and lead guitarist Fletcher Milloy, 16. Robertson completed the group.
Though the teens are young, they have high hopes for the band.

“I want to be the band that I hear on the radio,” Milloy said. “It’s about giving back to the music industry what it has given to us… We know there are a lot of talented musicians out there our age, but it comes down to dedication. I don’t want people to take the fact that we’re a teen band as a sign that we’re mediocre. We’re not. We’re dedicated and we’re pretty good.” - Ahwatukee Foothills News

"The Paige Brothers, People Who Could Fly"

The Paige Brothers raised right here in Ahwatukee are still teenagers but are already they are going places. In 2013 they, along with Fletcher Milloy and Levi Siwek of Chandler, formed the band People Who Could Fly. More recently, the band has gained a fifth member, singer James Mills from Gilbert, to complete their group

IN just one year, People Who Could Fly has performed throughout Phoenix at such places as Jersey D's, Rhythm Room, Joe's Grotto, Club Red, and Big Fish Pub in addition to The Viper Room in Hollywood.

In the last couple months, the group made it through the first rounds of Alice Cooper's Proof is in the Pudding and they played both at the Arizona State Fair and the Maricopa Music Fest.

Clearly, the band is getting quite a few gigs, and it didn't happen by chance. The Paige brothers began their musical endeavor at very young ages

Nineteen-year old Joshua began playing the piano at age 5 and then switched to drums around 13. Although these are his main instruments, he has learned other instruments, such as the violin, as well. Currently he plays drums for the band, and he also attends Barrett, the Honors College at ASU, on a full scholarship majoring in electrical engineering.

Joshua's brother, Jacob, is 16 and he attends Desert Vista High School just as his brother did. His interest in piano began at three years old and he added the bass at 12. Also included in his repertoire of instruments are the guitar and the mandolin. Right now he plays bass and keyboard for the band.
