Bio

Every now and then the musical world is blessed with a refreshing new artist delivering memorable melodies, emotionally touching lyrics and timeless musicianship. Most musicians and/or bands suffer the consequences of only staying in the light for 15 minutes when they are finally unfortunately cast aside into the world of one hit wonders for VH1 to plaster on TV.

PEP though is the exception. And she is the artist that the industry has been waiting for.

Unlike her artist name might suggest, PEP is far from peppy as her lyrics and melody driven songs will express. With every word she sings, the listener can almost feel the emotions that she felt when writing the songs. And with catchy melodies that are sure to stay in your head for days after listening a few times, it’s no wonder why PEP has gone so far in such little time.

PEP is Paulette E. Pantoja, a Los Angeles born female singer/songwriter that wrote her first song at the age of 8. In a world where male songwriters are adulated for their pain and anguish driven music, PEP reinvents the meaning of “cool” for females and welcomes you into her world of heartache and pain.

PEP’s late start in the music scene stemmed from the emotional roller coaster her life consisted of for many years. It wasn’t until fate stepped in and she met producer Barry Goldberg (The Ramones, Bob Dylan, Kelly Clarkson) that all her dreams seemed to come closer to fruition.

With Barry’s guidance and support, PEP went into the studio and recorded 6 original songs that are strong, powerful and surely to rise to the top of the charts once the world hears them.

Unable to play in public because of stage fright, PEP began the battle of overcoming this fear by attending open mics in the Los Angeles area every night for months. Listeners everywhere became infatuated with her powerful voice and heartfelt lyrics. Within months her determination paid off and after forming her back up band she went on to play at venues all over Los Angeles such as The Knitting Factory, The Derby and many more delivering powerful performances that left people only wanting more. She was invited to perform on the main stage where Cyndi Lauper and Belinda Carlisle would play for the famous Los Angeles Pride event where over 50,000 people would attend during the weekend. Applauding reviews were written up in many music magazines and local papers, producers and independent labels contacted her asking for considerations to help out.

After only 8 months of determination and succeeding in Los Angeles, PEP is ready to break into the scene of the world. And like her biggest inspiration, The Beatles, it is now time for the world to…

MEET PEP.
