Percance

Percance is a Fusion Rock/Latin/Ska band from Costa Rica, Central America. It all started in 2006; the band was formed as a temporary project and recorded an EP called “Soñar es Gratis” which contained the first three singles that stablished the band in the local scene. Little by little Percance started growing and sharing shows and experience with worldwide consolidated acts such as 2 minutos, Hombres G, Los Calzones Rotos, Los Rabanes, Los Autenticos Decadentes and Doctor Krápula; in fact, with these last two bands, they shared stage and gave duo shows in which all the musicians form both bands played together. In that lapse, the group continued developing in the costarican scene and in August 2010 presented the first LP called “Donde ire a parar?” in a huge outdoor show in Plaza de la Democracia, Costa Rica, that gathered an audience of more than 10.000 attendees. From this LP; 3 singles have been released until now and one of them became the first costarican single/video to reach #1 position on MTV Latin America Top 10. Another important moment in the band life happened in both 2008 and 2010; these years Percance received the "Best National Artist" award from the network 40 Principales in Spain. The band has continued its growth to the point in which nowadays it´s considered as the most popular Costarican act; creating a National Tour that became a success gig after gig, gathering an average crowd of 8000 persons per gig. In fact as of today the band has a fanbase of more than 127.000 persons in Facebook. During the last quarter of 2011 Percance toured Central America, reaching El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Panama; and during February and March 2012 toured Colombia and Ecuador, reaching important cities such as Bogota, Cali, Quito and Guayaquil. The bands main proposal consists of a solid, energetic and in-touch with the audience show at all times; in fact this is one of Percance strong spots. Another important fact is that Percance works actively as the official spokesman of the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) in Costa Rica, this is a branch of the United Nations that cares for worldwide hunger. Percance has been working in three different campaigns through 2 years and is honored to have colaborated making huge advances in the fight against hunger in their country and worldwide. Because of this, in 2011 recieved a special recognition from the United Nations Costa Rica. Right now the band is planning the release of a special edition of thier first LP called "Donde Ire a Parar" and pre-producing thir second LP which will be released in the second half of 2013.
