Bio

If you have ever been captivated by tribal rhythms or lost in the bass bins of a sound system, then Percussion Junction are for you. Fusing traditional percussion and hard hitting drums with funky-ass bass lines they form a sound that not only sends crowds into a dancing frenzy but may reshape the way you think about dance music.

When have you seen three drummers on stage combining with a DJ to bring you live electronic music covering everything from Hip Hop to breaks to house? The group brings together drummers Matthew Bourne, Paul Issa and Kane Goodwin with respected Sydney DJ Bentley (aka Benjamin Chinnock) on turntables.

Having just dropped their debut album and with the Smirnoff Experience gig on the horizon Percussion Junction continue to build a strong reputation. With a regional NSW tour under their belt, international support slots with artists such as Talvin Singh, Krafty Kuts, Deekline & Wizard and Panjea and locals Kid Kenobi, Ajax, Hook N Sling, Dopamine, Bass Kelph, Flow Dynamics, Rastawookie, Koolism, Watussi, Hermitude, Katalyst, Deepchild, Wild Marmalade, Kobra Kai, The Bird, Rephrase and many more. On home turf in Sydney they have played a host of inner city venues including The State Theatre, Martin Place, The Basement, The Metro, Manning Bar, Marble Bar, Candy's Apartment, Telstra Stadium, Loft King Street Wharf, The Heritage and The Factory. Add to this a rocking festival reputation that has seen them draw big crowds and sell out shows at Sydney Festival’s Becks Bar, Earthdance, Peats Ridge and the Amnesty International Australia Freedom Festival.

Wherever they play Percussion Junction never fail to rock the dance floor with their infectious tribal blend of house and funk driven breakbeat. Percussion Junction's sound is unique yet draws influences from acts which incorporate live instrumentation with electronic sounds, acts such as The Freestylers, Fort Knox Five,
Basement Jaxx, The Bird and Resin Dogs.
