Midwest-based melody-core metal band Perfect Red launches their tour of the western states this week to promote their second album, "Rebuild the Afterworld." Already a sensation in the Chicago area, Perfect Red's catchy songs and gritty style are quickly gaining nationwide exposure.

Still "hold outs, not sold outs" to the record labels, P-Red is financing their solo tour with the support of their fans and west coast connections. Already seasoned veterans of the Midwest circuit, P-Red has performed with bands such as Disturbed (sold out, House of Blues, Chicago), The Buzzhorn and Pillar.

Perfect Red's music has been described as bridging the gap between alternative rock and heavy metal. A hard rock band in every sense, P-Red's songs are melodic, rhythmic and infectious -- and are catching on with fans of indie, metal, and rock-n-roll alike.

P-Red's second album, "Rebuild the Afterworld," has gained critical acclaim from radio stations and music magazines. The first track, titled "Take Me Home," has already gained airplay and received great response on commercial radio stations such as 92.7 WQLZ in Springfield, IL, where, due to a high number of listener votes, beat out many major label bands such as Staind and Audioslave. Illinois Entertainer magazine voted P-Red the best band of 2005 under the category of "Most Pleasant Local Surprise." features P-Red's songs in their regular rotation, and rumors are that "Gonna Getcha" off Rebuild will be used in an upcoming tv pilot.

Despite the success of their albums, Perfect Red remains a dish best served live. Lead Singer/Songwriter Timmmm loves his fans, and it shows on and off stage. Timmmm utilizes the entire stage during his performance, and even mingles among the fans in the audience. He sings directly to the audience in a very generous way, and his fans receive his offering gratefully. Timmmm engages the audience with confidence, as if he was born to perform. His performance comes from his heart -- you can see in his face that he's feeling every word he's singing.

Drummer Tony and Bassist DJ are a force to be reckoned with. They are fierce performers and very focused, providing the strong backbone for the music. Tony is an aggressive drummer and throws his whole body into his performance. He is meticulous, technical and very confident. Tony and DJ move as one machine at times, riding the same brain wave, in the zone, and getting off on their music. It's impossible not to be swept up by their wave. Surfs up, dudes!

Jeff is an accomplished guitarist, rooted in the classic hard rock tradition, but capable of a wide range of musical styles. He is animated and fun to watch, whipping his guitar and his long hair around without missing a note. I've never seen anyone strum as fast as he does. Jeff's melodic leads follow Timmmm's vocals really well. A relative newcomer to Perfect Red, Jeff's style is likely to add an exciting rock element to P-Red's future compositions as they write to optimize his virtuosity.

"...Their songs are aggressive and melodic, raw and catchy...'Nothing's Perfect' is a radio-ready smash..." - The Cornerstone Player 048 (December 2003)

"...this (a million reasons EP) is really an amazing disc...I love the CD, I think it's great..." - Chris Payne, WKQX 101.1 FM Chicago

" music I've heard from Chicago in a long time..." - One Kind Radio,

"Nothing's Perfect" and Threw It All Away" are near perfect rock 'n roll tunes...these songs are finely crafted, well written and just waiting for some label to pick up...
MY GRADE: A+" - David Buco, Midwest BEAT

"...good commercial hard for the masses..." - Richard Milne, WXRT 93.1 FM Chicago

Perfect Red fall into the “Most Pleasant Local Surprise” category with their CD, Rebuild The Afterworld. Their sound is rooted in the same soil that sprung Pearl Jam and Guns N’ Roses but is more interesting than either influence. Vocalist Timmm has great pipes and helps push the great band behind him into higher realms, as any good rock singer should. PR gets heavy and smooth in turn and delivers an extremely listenable package of tuneful hard rock. (
– Mike O’Cull - Illinois Entertainer - Jan. 2006

"Vocalist Timmm is a rock singer in the classic sense and it's nice to hear someone who can really sing for a change."
- Illinois Entertainer - Dec 2005

PERFECT RED - Possibly the most amazing band in the history of ever. Our personal favorite, check them out! Proud to say these guys are from Chicago, IL! - ZERO Promotions

Thank You, Mr. Meltdown (2008)
Tour Edition CD
Rebuild the Afterworld
A Million Reasons

A band called PERFECT RED took on the United States of America, perhaps even the world. Armed with a credit card and a bag of chips, four young lads hopped into a van for a tour that promised success beyond their wildest dreams.

You say you didn’t see them on that tour? Hmmmm, – what were you thinking? You probably live in Las Cruces, NM – don’t you? You probably think that their 2008 cd “Thank you, Mr. Meltdown” is about you – don’t you? Well... it IS!

The low point of a tour can make the most optimistic person question the fullness of their cup. Las Cruces was supposed to be the best show of the tour. The promoter of the show was an Assistant Program Director at the local rock station, owned the club and was running specials to get the back-to-school kids to the party on the patio. It was out of the way, but worth the trip. So… 16 hours on the road after rockin’ the Whiskey in LA, PERFECT RED shows up in time to load in for an all ages show and a radio interview on the aforementioned rock station. The program director even showed up to do the interview live at the club (very drunk – and practically passes out during the interview).

Long story longer. Dude who owns club manages local band. Dude takes it upon himself to turn down PERFECT RED amps (on stage during the show). DUDE – PR is a ROCK band! Reduced to the sonic boom of a pin falling to the ground, timmm throws his microphone into the T-shirt box, sits down at the bar and orders a drink. Meanwhile, the band finishes a lighter and jazzier version of “Take Me Home” off the band’s second cd, “...rebuild the after world.” Next up: dude who owns club increases volume to eleven for band he manages. Ironically, they are an acoustic jazz trio.

Fast forward: back home from the tour, the boys decide it is time to write and record a new cd. This time – they do it all on their own. In keeping with themes of triumph over thoughts of self destruction over silly school girl crushes, the band's latest album, "Thank you, Mr. Meltdown", explores this senseless inner conflict that consumes most people with a pulse through sonic textures and genre juxtaposition.
