Perish the Thought was conceived, carried and delivered by former Bass Oddessy and Sylvia saint drummer Ian Walsh in 2006. Perish the Thought are the love child of a heavy and rock metal liaison.
Perish the Thought starts a new chapter in its creative endeavors.
It is a band devoted to the music and not sidetracked by Hair gel, the Latest Fashions and Quiffs. Its limitless musical influences, talent and flair create something unique its sound being described as heavy, discordant, melodic cacophony.
All the members are no strangers to live shows and have a repertoire of supports to Kerbdog, Cyclefly and Futureheads. They have played countless gigs and Festivals such as Oxygen and South by South West.
The Influences are vast with Perish the Thought here are some of their favourites Therapy?, Helmet, Raging Speedhorn, Killing Joke, Fugazi, Tool, Black Flag, Slayer, Ministry, Paradise Lost, New Model Army, The Cure, Neurosis, Kyuss, Black Label Society, Alice in Chains, Clutch, AC/DC, Misfits, Down, Deftones, Motorhead and many more.
Perish the Thought are presently gigging around Ireland and are planning a European tour and hope to perform at some Festivals in 2008. Currently the band is recording and will be releasing an E.P titled Prose for Pariahs which is due to be released in the New Year.
