"Talk about a fun band...."

If you are looking for a cover band that is fun, gets the crowd involved, and plays the music that you know the chorus to (or more likely the whole song), these are the guys for you.

Classic rock from the 60's 70's 80's 90's and now, that's upbeat, singable and you might even catch yourself dancing to. - POI- The Band

WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE...OH, AND HOW:

As a true fan you probably would like to know how these three buffoons got together and began what is now sure to be a rock dynasty.

It all began in 2005 when Jeff and his wife were planning their annual fall bash which seemed to coincide with OctoberFest. Jeff was talking to his neighbor JV and mentioned something about having a live band play at the bash and how great it would be. JV was quick to offer that he played bass and his brother, Sammy, played drums and with the help of another friend who played guitar, they could throw a few tunes together and entertain the drunken crowd for a while. Jeff jumped at the chance but requested one song be played..."Rawhide" in the style of The Blues Brothers. JV retorted with, "If you sing it, we will play it." How could Jeff refuse such an offer?!? JV, Sammy, and Spades showed up and called themselves The Weinerschnitzels to go along with the OctoberFest theme and did entertain to the crowd's delight. They even recruited another neighbor, Dime Bag, to play rhythm guitar on a few tunes. And yes, Jeff sang "Rawhide", and very well I might add. He also grabbed the mike for some backup vocals that day.

Nine months pass from that day until 2006 when Jeff again is looking to plan his party. This time when he asks JV about having the band play, JV remembering how well Jeff sang the year before suggests that Jeff join the trio and actually front the vocal portion of the band. Jeff eagerly accepts and practice begins for the fall bash. The name The Weinerschnitzels stays with them.

In 2006 came a key event in the development of what direction the band went. JV and Sammy's brother got married. All three members of what was to become Persons Of Interest were involved with the wedding. What Jeff didn't realize was that these brothers had some sort of deal with the devil to get up and play "a few" songs when the wedding band was on break. The three brothers and Jeff actually practiced and got good at four songs they would showcase at the wedding. In June of 2006 on Long Island, NY with JV on bass/guitar, Sammy on drums, the groom on vocals/ bass, Jeff on lead vocals/ harmonica and a ringer guitar player (Thanks Joe!), they rock the house and wowed the reception with "What I Like About You" (to include the harmonica solo), "Twist and Shout", "I'm Gonna Be - 500 Miles", and "Rock N Roll All Nite". At this point it is inevitable...

Jeff's 2006 bash happens with once again (what would be the final performance of, for now) The Weinerschitzels. Huge success. Huge! But schedules fall back into place, music gets put on the back burner and nobody finds the time to jam or practice after the fall bash.

It wasn't until 2007 when in May, Jeff got together with JV and Sammy to go watch a mutual friend's band, Motorboat play. They inspire the three to develop what is now POI - The Band. The guys begin to practice on a sort of regular basis and get a decent set list down. They even sit in a few tunes now and then with Motorboat and get their "stage legs". Their big break came in August of 2007 when Persons Of Interest debuted and first played a one hour set at Funky Murphys on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester. Shortly after they play to their biggest crowd ever at Jeff's fall bash and they've never looked back.

2008 has brought a new logo, more practice, more songs, better equipment, and most importantly a tighter sound. Persons Of Interest is busy now. So keep your eye on the Gig Info page for our upcoming shows and pictures from them after we play. If you are a true fan and have your own photos of the band that you would like to see posted, feel free to send them to us and we'll post them. Now get back to work before your boss chews you a new one for f#&*n' off on company time.....
