Pet Chat is the musical manifesto of an artistic collective, or band, based in Franklin, TN. The seed of it all was planted in songwriter/guit/artist Mike Mullin during his time working as an ESL teacher in Moscow, Russia. Upon returning home to Tennessee, he poured out songs and began recording what would be become the never-to-be released Petchat EP.
A summer later, he met classically trained violinist Ellie Stevens and drummer Zach Cash (kin to the late, great Johnny) and when the time had come, they were established a trio. As amalgamated as the world they grew up in has become, so is their genre-blending style. Described as a richly eclectic sound, there are obvious influences from their backgrounds: rock, classical, gypsy folk, etc. The common element of the blend is the raw, visceral energy of the performance and the unique sound the group has crafted to entertain.
The name Pet Chat is a hybrid word, created and embodied by the band to represent the vulnerable communication between loved ones; conversations that transcend language. Think of the way you talk to your dog or cat when no one is around, and what they teach you. With words and music, these dynamic musical adventurers bring the CHAT.Band Members
