Bio

Instantly familiar, yet entirely new. With the release of their new EP, Plenty Good Reasons, the quartet marks the end of an exciting year and gives a glimpse of things to come. Having spent much of 2008 on the road, headlining shows from coast to coast and supporting the likes of The Wailers, Jackie Greene, The Waifs and Rusted Root, Pete and J are a band on the verge.

Peter Harper and Jason Blynn, aka Pete and J, are Brooklyn based indie folk/rock musicians who have a knack for sonically transporting their listeners back to a time when songs were songs and music was a bit groovier. Don’t be confused, this is not some acoustic duo from your local coffee shop. Whether they’re touring the United States or the UK, their live shows are events full of bouncy melodies, high energy and catchy choruses. Concert go-er beware: you will be satisfied.

Pete and J’s previous recordings Dressed for Conversation and Without a Band allowed for the two songwriters to grow as a team. The forthcoming full length record (early 09 release date) was produced by David Kahne and Malcolm Burn and is their most highly anticipated work to date. Featuring a move towards the upbeat pop sounds of The Rolling Stones mixed with the skillful arrangements of acts like Wilco and Devendra Banhart and vocal harmonies that have been lost for 30 years, this new material is at the same time nostalgic yet new, vintage and totally original.
