"Pete & Mike"

Imagine yourself sitting on the porch in an Adirondack chair, looking out at the ocean while a slow 75-degree breeze ruffles the fronds of the palm trees along the shore. Close your eyes and try to see the water in front of you sparkling in the sun; lie back and try to feel the breeze like an invisible kiss on the cheek. Set the stage in your mind for the perfect summer scene.

Now give the scene a soundtrack.

Following in the tradition of the Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffett, Jack Johnson, and other ultra-cool heralds of Endless Summer, the Pete & Mike Band is the newest addition to the carefree cavalcade of surf-rockers. Self-described purveyors of “laid-back, catchy beach grooves,” this fresh young duo mixes the peace-and-love attitude of the Flower Power generation with the thrill-seeking drive of extreme sports enthusiasts. Their plucky, lighthearted melodies are a celebration of everything we remember about the summers of our youth.

Combining radio-ready tunes and ultra-tight harmonies with an extraordinary bit of musical multi-tasking (between the two of them, Pete and Mike play eight instruments on their upcoming album), the duo’s songs are as intricate as they are catchy. Pete and Mike have built a musical playground around themselves and invited the whole world to come and play. Their songs are simultaneously a call to a wild party and an innocent reminder of the carefree days of childhood.

Lying somewhere between a fraternity party and a Frankie-and-Annette 1960’s beach movie, the Pete & Mike Band’s sound will get you bouncing on your heels and singing along. Sure to be the feel-good hit of the summer on their upcoming tour of the Cape Cod area, this talented twosome shows extraordinary promise. So grab your surf board and head for the beach – the Pete & Mike Band is waiting to show you a good time!

In today’s ever-evolving, “internet friendly” musical landscape, the Pete and Mike Band is a beacon for those seeking authentic and original music by independent artists who have not succumbed to the contemporary standards of popular music. An entirely self-produced acoustic duo from Woods Hole, MA, Pete and Mike take pride in their do-it-yourself approach to making music, merchandise, and videos and are motivated by a growing fan base of music lovers who are not satisfied when they turn on a major radio station. Comprised of its two founders, singer/songwriter Pete McNamara and multi-instrumentalist/engineer Mike Schanbacher, the Pete & Mike Band also frequently collaborates with guest musicians in studio, and more commonly on stage to fill out their live sound.
