The Old Queen's Head is a good venue for music. It has comfortable seating, nice decor and is just about the right size! The only con is that it lacks the grimy underground atmosphere that make live music experiences great. It is a bit too 'civilised' (with no dance floor). Plus drink prices are astronomical
The real highlight of the night was, however, definitely Pete Walter and Band. They instantly created a buzz and changed the atmosphere. Their music is a lot of fun and their lead singer is a great performer, as was the female vocalist. 'Pete Walter and Band', named after the lead singer, have a pop rocky sound and were incredibly entertaining.
The night was worth paying to get in for but a more eccelctic mix of music might have made it more worth the entry fee. Pete Walter and Band certainly made the evening and I am hoping to get an interview with them to follow up! Watch....this....space. - London Arts and Fashion
Pleasingly radio friendly pop-rock from Walter, a former TV producer who nearly decapitated Rachel Stevens and Cheryl Cole in one fell swoop! 'Whilst working for MTV a big light slid off the top of the camera I was using to interview Rachel with and hurtled towards her face. Luckily she ducked and it smashed behind her, making Cheryl Cole (who was standing next to her at the time) scream.' Tonight they play in support of their debut single, the organ country pop of 'Troubling Me'. - Time Out
The Pete Walter Band: Troubling Me (Tap Bang)
Life’s catching up with former TV producer Pete Walter and his international line-up of musicians. What to do? Write a catchy, upbeat pop/rock song about it, of course… File next to Ben Folds Five, Jamie Cullum, etc, etc. - The Metro

Bio
Formed by singer/songwriter Pete Walter in 2009, the band reveled in testing out their uplifting pop/rock tracks in a live setting over the years. Honing and perfecting their craft in front of live audience also gave Pete the chance to wear a bow tie to full effect. His infectious enthusiasm seems to seep into his audience as they respond in kind with full participation and obvious enjoyment. The band completed a six city tour in late 2010 to much press acclaim, demonstrating that, despite the bow tie, P.I.O. seem to be melting the hearts of even the most hardened journalists.
Dan Brown (Fiction Plane, Lemar) and Jamie Johnson (Razorlight, Paul Weller) produced the band’s debut singles ‘Troubling Me’ and ‘Ache in my Heart’ in Phil Manzanera’s, (Roxy Music’s lead guitarist) state of the art Gallery Studios in West London. Brown and leading producer Michael Conn (Newton Faulkner, The Wanted) collaborated on the forthcoming release ‘Holding On’. With such music business luminaries working in tandem with the band there is no stopping the positivity freight train.
Building on their recent successes they have managed to attract the attention of sports giants Puma, who asked them to play at the launch of their winter collection. London Arts and Fashion Blog have the following to say about their performance: “The real highlight of the night was, however, definitely Pete into Orbit. They instantly created a buzz and changed the atmosphere. Their music is a lot of fun and their lead singer is a great performer, as was the female vocalist. They have a pop rocky sound and were incredibly entertaining.”
It would just be plain wrong if Pete weren’t involved in some video projects in connection with the music. Taking a leaf out of Daryl Hall’s Webby Award winning show ‘Live from Daryl’s House’ the band currently feature a bi-weekly video show that they distribute as a free podcast on iTunes and which everyone can find at www.peteintoorbit.com. The show features live performances, interviews, behind the scenes footage and fun little Adam and Joe-esque features like their keyboard player debating moral dilemmas or making anagrams out of rock stars’ names. According to Pete, there’s more of this to look forward to – “We're recording more in the next few months and go out on another mini tour in the summer 2011.”
