Composer, pianist, songwriter, podcaster...screenwriter....author...well, that enough for now. But Peter Saltzman has done it all, at the highest level. Easily one of the great living composers, he's never been satisfied to live on just that moniker.

In the current version of his on-and-off again band, Peter Saltzman's Nonstandard Experience, he tackles standard from every era and genre—from Beethoven to Bob Dylan and beyond. Each set of standards culminates in a Saltzman original that draws themes and ideas from the standard material.

It adds up some something both profound and fun. Rather than performing the standard cover band "copy" or the original, Saltzman finds something entirely new, while keeping the essence of the original song.
