Bio

Early in the summer of 1994 Peter Aguilar got some of the best news he could imagine. He was accepted to Berklee College of Music in Boston. Ever since he was 5 years he had been singing along with the radio, but now it looked like all he had been working for, practicing and wishing, would finally give him a chance to do what he wanted most. To become a professional, performing singer/songwriter.

Throughout his life he had his favorites that he followed. Studying what they did that made them so damn good. First there was Billy Joel. Now Billy could write a song about anything and make it sound great. Peter took piano lessons to try to feel the power under his fingers that flowed under Billy's. His lyrics always told a deep story and how he could make those words rhyme! Then there was Tori Amos. Nevermind that she was gorgeous, she had such a style and darkness to her that you could only get sucked into her world when listening to 'Winter'. Peter loved that darkness, it was so refreshing. Every song had it's own reality and that wasn't always happy, but it was beautiful. And then came Sting. Now there was a man that had the musical life span of a whale. If there was one thing Peter admired about Sting was his versatility. He even picked up the bass guitar. With all three of his favorites Peter drew from their strengths to make it part of his own music.

With Peter's first album, Corazon Del Sol, there was selection. You couldn't exactly define his style, but imagination became king and so did experimentation. During 1998 and still attending Berklee College of Music, Peter found a love for Jazz. There was so much to draw from now that it almost became too much. Peter fell in love with the city of Boston. There was so much youth and freshness. In the year 2000 it broke his heart when it was time to come back home to Los Angeles. In 2002 Peter joined a cover band named Stars and Guitars and after 6 months he revamped the band to a broader range of music and renamed it Get Back. Get Back is still going, but Peter had to take a break to concentrate on what he set out to do from the beginning...his own music.

And in 2005 it happened. Peter formed his own band with live musicians instead of the midi machines he was used to recording with and is recording his first album since 1999. The Peter Aguilar Band combines live bar rock, r&b blues and a latin influence with a hint of old jazz. The songs always form a new brave world to experience. And the lyrics make you experience a life other than your own. The Peter Aguilar Band is made up by Peter Aguilar, Dave Rohling, Pierre Carlson, Kevin Brando and Phil Shearer on Drums.

The Peter Aguilar Band has just begun performing in the L.A. area and the response is promising. Thanks for reading and check here at SonicBids.com or at their website www.peteraguilarband.com for the latest.
