Bio

A few years ago, after many years writing songs and playing music Peter found himself disenchanted with both his songwriting and his performing. He began to cut back on his gigs and focus more on the crafting of songs. He took on the challenge of RPM ( a challenge issued by The Wire in Portsmouth NH, for musicians to write and record an original album in 28 days, which has now grown to an international event with thousands of songwriters and bands participating in the midwinter hoopla) with songwriter Jodie Curtis. They became The Black Cats, a collaboration which would loosen up his writing style, shaking off his folk sound for a funkier sound closer to his roots. Three of the songs written for that album, Madness Kiss Me, Stepping Stone, and Rest Easy, made in onto his latest CD ÒLittle Black DressÓ. Discouraged with studio recording, never really able to get the sound he wanted, some of his material had been kicking around for 5 years...then this 4th of July, Peter set up recording equipment in his living room and recorded Little Black Dress in two days. He wanted to bleed the pipe to make way for new songs, new sounds. The title song Little Black Dress had been nothing more than an idea when he sat down that weekend, and what you hear on the album is Peter writing and recording that song in the moment for the first time. Time away has healed his musical inertia and his next challenge is to hit the road, traveling, writting songs, working with other musicians and exploring his full potential as a songwriter and a performer.
In live performance Peter pulls you in with his amazing voice, redolent of red wine, blackberries and honey. Lyrically he is poetic, vocally he is captivating. His connection to his audience is tangible.

Originally from NJ, Peter has spent most of his musical career on the east coast, from Boston to Bar Harbor, at one time playing bass and singing in the funk band Tongue and Groove, solo acoustic folk pop rock, a duo with Wayne Read, his newest gig being a duo with young singer songewriter Adrian Emberley, as Diva and the King.
