"Peter D'Amore (gig preview)"

'Peter D'Amore – Points East Pub – Friday January 12

"Acoustic rock is synonymous with bare essentials, but there is no stripping down with Peter D'Amore. The Milwaukee guitarist spent two years recording his laid-back 2006 album, Reclinal, using as many as 40 tracks on some songs to flesh out every miniscule nook and cranny. Such slavish attention to aural detail is typically reserved for Pink Floyd records, not a release by a local pop-folkie who is a regular on the bar circuit."

This was the setlist to the show, in homage to the staff of the Onion…

Peter D’Amore, from Milwaukee, WI, has always regarded the old-style rectangular tape recorder as a living time machine, even since the age of 3. Now he is a lively acoustic loop-guitarist on a never-ending quest for more music-loving goosebumps. In 2005, Peter had the privilege to open for Amos Lee at his sold out show in Milwaukee. In 2008, Peter took 4th place in the VH1 Classic Contest "Your Move With Yes".
He is the son of Milwaukee’s own Rick D’Amore, who has played clubs in Milwaukee for 45+ years. They also do shows together, jam-packed with all ages.
His new album will be released later in 2009, called "The Line". Other releases are "Reclinal" from 2006 and "Sweet Life" the EP from 2002.
Peter loves playing original songs at his live shows, but you’ll also hear cover songs, ranging from Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Dave Matthews, Neil Diamond, Coldplay, Journey, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Rush, Motown, Sammy Hagar, acoustic versions of 80’s hits – and many more! There are also some featured comedy bits, including character impressions.
