"....truly a breath of fresh air"

"Such a delightful surprise. I had 5 other CDs in my changer that were kind of abrasive and I got to Peter's and it was truly the proverbial breath of fresh air. It's still in the changer and I look forward to hearing it many more times...and to hearing more from Peter." - Micah Solomon/President & CEO Oasis CD Mfg. www.oasisCD.com

"....Peter Lainson debuts CD"

"In a time when the radio plays so much emotionless music, Peter Lainson wants to write songs that touch people. His first CD, "The Wind and the Waves," released in January, is evidence of that" - Deann Stumpe/Hastings Tribune

""...a fantastic, instrumentalist,songwriter and singer"."

..."just when I'm getting discourged about the future of music, along comes someone who's living outside the music business box-making heartfelt, soulful music for the love of it. For music is about love, about hearing something beautiful in your head and wanting to share it with your friends. Peter Lainson sure hears something wonderful in his head and he has the skill to pull it off...
He's a fantastic instrumentalist, songwriter and singer". - Paul Reisler - Trapezoid/kidpanalley.org

""...train whistles...bird songs""

"Peter Lainson has a gift. He is addicted to harmony. Harmonic interludes in everyday life, like train whistles and bird songs escape my attention, but never Peter's. In the hands of this master, each melodic phrase is perfectly and lovingly crafted. The result is a feast for the ears. You don't have to know anything about harmony to know that this is gorgeous stuff. The songs are equal parts jazz and folk; Pat Metheny meets David Wilcox".

"He has been invited to share the stage with some of folk music's finest personalities. Peter is a brilliant player and a serious writer". - Robin Harrell, Producer...The Listening Room, Hastings Nebraska

"....fascinating guitar style"

..."He's got a fascinating guitar style, all his own...that weaves many influences. Nothing ordinary.
I'm glad he's just off I-80, so I can stop through to see what he's been working on."

".....without peer"

"Peter Lainson's guitar work is without peer...beautiful and expressive"
.......Pierce Pettis - Pierce Pettis

"....sweet surprises"

"Peter always comes up with songs full of sweet surprises. His stunning guitar stylings and melodic structure have often taken my breath away....he writes melodies any songwriter would want to steal"

.........Louise Taylor - Louise Taylor

Bio

Peter Lainson hears a wide and unusual spectrum of music in his head. Musical influences are in 3 genres: pop/singer-songwriter, jazz, and classical.
Non- musical influences include the Impressionist painters, most notably Van Gogh. Lainson uses harmony, melody and voice much the same way a painter uses a canvas and brush; to evoke an immediate response and emotion. Music, lyric and voice are woven together to create this image.

Lainson, who started playing guitar after seeing The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, lived in Hollywood in the late 70s playing jazz guitar and working as an arranger and session musician and recording with jazz/funk/fusion band...Ambience. Over the last few years though, Lainson has come full-circle returning to his acoustic guitar based singer/songwriter roots. On the journey back, he brings with him the many influences - folk, jazz and classical....("Dad used to crank up Brahams and Rachmaninoff throughout the house...I mean LOUD") gathered up along the way.

Peter Lainson has opened for the likes of David Wilcox, Chuck Pyle and Martin Sexton and has shared the stage with many other contemporary singer/songwriters including Pierce Pettis and Tom Prasada-Rao who recorded Lainson's DRIFT INTO A DREAM on the 1998 release CHRISTMAS IN THE ASHRAM.
