Peter Maine

There is a unique combination of humor, pathos, and quirky vulnerability found in the songs of Peter Maine. Darkness and light, the romantic and the offbeat find an easy meeting place within his interestingly accessible style. Intriguing musical twists keep the listener engaged and wondering what’s next. Originally and still a drummer, one hears the dynamics of a rhythm section in the songs even when he is only accompanied by his guitar or piano.
Peter has opened for well know artists such as Rosanne Cash, John Gorka and Shameka Copeland in venues from his native New York to North Carolina and California. Currently he performs locally in New York State, both as a solo , and as drummer with his good friends in The Roadside Blues Band.
Peter's first sonicbids submission was the 2006 annual Jeff Buckley Tribute Concert at Uncommon Ground in Chicago. He was invited to go, based largely on an original song about Jeff entiltled "The Mystery So Deep" (see audio files).
