Bio

New York City's Peter Rose is a prodigious singer-songwriter who creates pop rock music with a mix of R&B elements, fusing his eclectic influences and resulting in a distinctive sound that is all his own.

Inspired by his mother's passion for writing, Peter was creative from a young age. Seeing a film on rag pianist Scott Joplin piqued his interest to study piano. Soon Rose was attending New York's finest music conservatories, first Bloomingdale School of Music, then the world-renown Julliard. He debuted at Carnegie Hall at age 14, where the audience raved about his performance.

But classical music wasn't his only influence. An interest in writing poetry soon turned into rap as Rose's older brother was a DJ, exposing him to rap and hip hop legends such as Biggie and Tupac.

Soon Peter was in the studio recording rap tracks. He teamed up with R.O.K. Music Entertainment, the joint venture of Freeman "Raw" Harris and Kenny Krytell. "When I first heard Peter in the studio," Raw says, "he had a natural pop tone that, to me, is amazing. He's one of the few artists like that I've heard in a long time. When you hear Peter Rose, you know it's Peter Rose."

The R.O.K. Music team convinced Peter to transition from rapping to singing. Their first single, "Can't Break Us Down", was such a success that they decided to write, record, and produce an entire album. He describes The Rose Effect Album as his "therapy through music. I feel like each song on my album has a meaning with an intent to affect listeners in different ways -- emotionally, mentally, and physically."

The Rose Effect overflows with the joy and passion innate to who Peter Rose is as an artist, and engages and impacts his fans as deeply as the music has affected him.
