Bio

Pete Staff and the Oxford Circus is an original rock and roll band based out of Malvern, PA. The band had its beginnings in the Spring of 2005 when Dr. X, Hofmann, and Hofmann formed an original rock band with another frontman and composer. Eventually known as “Malvern,” the band played a variety of local venues such as the now-defunct Grape Street, the Rusty Nail, and Villanova’s annual Novafest. They also performed as one of eight finalists in the Musikfest 2007 Regional Band Showcase. The band went out in a blaze of rock and roll glory in September of 2007 with a final show on Grape Street’s main stage. Rigsby, Hofmann, and Hofmann made a commitment to keep the rock alive after the show and Pete Staff was soon born.

New frontman Nick Quintiliani has made the band stronger than ever. In addition to his vocal and compositional skills, Quintiliani electrifies the crowd with his energy and ability to move seamlessly from keys to guitar to bongos and back, sometimes all in the same song. The rhythm section is still held down by Seth Hofmann’s aggressive, no-holds-barred approach to drums and Dr. X's thundering bass lines. The sound is further filled out by Mak Hofmann’s guitar riffing and blues-rock inspired guitar solos. Fans of vocal harmonies will also be impressed as the original songs frequently combine the vocal talents of Quintiliani, Hofmann, and Rigsby.

The band traveled to Staten Island, NY in June of 2009 to record their debut album (Beneath the Red Sky) at the NOVA Entertainment studios. The album was engineered by Ryan Kelly (Slash, Tom Morello, Jakob Dylan, The Discovery Channel, etc.) and was recorded over three intense days. The result was thirteen original songs well-versed in vintage rock and roll attitude while also incorporating elements of the blues, funk, and pop. The final mixes were completed in November of 2009 by Nick Quintiliani and Josh Werblun. The album was mastered in mid-December of 2009 by Peter Humphreys at Masterwork Recording in Northern Liberties. The disc is currently available on the band's website. Writing and recording for the follow-up album has already commenced, with 6-7 songs in their final phases and another 5-6 songs under development. Drum and bass tracking began on February 19th, 2010.

Currently, the band is looking for any and all gigs. We are a band that is focused on live performances and is at home on almost any stage. Thank you for visiting our site and stay tuned for the album!
