Pete Stewart, born 1972 in northwest Washington State, in many ways epitomizes what it means to be a life-long musician. Pete was the lead singer for The Accident Experiment (Rock Ridge/Warner Brothers), including former members of P.O.D. and Sprung Monkey, was previously the lead singer and guitarist of Grammatrain (Forefront/EMI) and has been an accomplished solo artist and music producer. He has had the privilege of performing both around the USA several times over during his career and the world, touring through many countries during his career.

Pete served as a producer and songwriter for multi-platinum selling group dc talk's last album, entitled Solo, and on the debut albums of members Michael Tait and TobyMac. Shortly thereafter, Pete's hard work would result in a Grammy for dc talk's Solo album, and Momentum, the album he produced for TobyMac, would go on to sell gold.

Throughout the years Pete has produced, written and performed on a variety of artists' albums such as: 4x platinum dc talk (Virgin), 3x platinum Jaci Velasquez (Sony), 1x platinum Nappy Roots (Atlantic), 3x gold Sawyer Brown (Curb Records), 2x gold TobyMac (Forfront/EMI), Kutless (BEC Recordings/EMI) and many more. Pete is currently writing with, producing and developing numerous artists, both on major labels and independent. Lyrics

This Way

Written By: Pete Stewart

i fell in love with a girl who loved me but couldn't
she turned to stone
i shoulda run when she pushed like the wind but i wouldn't
now i'm alone, tied to her stone
but i'm better off this way
they say i'm better off this way

smoking a cigarette, burning my will 'til it bends
punished in time
wandering through desperation to get to the end
the end of the line
nothing is fine but i'm better off this way
they say i'm better off this way

she's so cold
and life's so old
and flowers are whispering tales untold

thunderclouds pass by the window but never come in
leaving me dry
searching for peace in the bottle's original sin
never to find her angel eyes
but i'm better off this way
they say i'm better off this way

i'm better off this way
they say i'm better off this way

Can't Get You Out

Written By: Pete Stewart

life is filled with changes like
a book with turning pages
but i'm stuck inside the days when you were here

pacing every hour
and i'm staring at the flowers
that i gave to you when everything was clear

i walk in circles on this floor
but it don't change that you're not with me anymore

and i just can't get you out
i just can't get you out
and people tell me that this will just take time
but i just can't get you out of my mind

remember last september
when our love felt like forever
before foolish words would drive you from out home

our bedroom now feels empty and
the candle that you left me
is a stranger that reminds me i'm alone

i walk in circles on this floor

'cause i just can't get you out
i just can't get you out
and people tell me that this will just take time
but i just can't get you out of my mind

By Now

Written By: Pete Stewart

freedom ties a soul
to the art of letting go
of the memories like flowers in the sand

trying to believe
while i’m drifting in this sea
that i didn’t need this sentence in my hand

and my head is always shifting like the weather
but by now i know i should know better

the hours in between
all the trying to be clean
seem to push ‘til i let go of what i head

bottles, girls and pills
days and nights and empty thrills
and the difference is what this is

like light and dark and good and bad
and what we are and what we had
it’s all too relative

and my head is always shifting like the weather
but by now i know i should know better

gentle is the road that i lay down on
when i think to walk away
and broken like the lies that i believe to make you stay
