Not just the selective music with the accent on exceptional singing personalities of the jazz history, but also the pleasant "spoken word" of Petra Ernyei is worth listening. - Tomas S. Polivka, www.rozhlas.cz

Bio
Petra Ernyeiova * 1975 was born in Prague. Her mother is Czech, her father was born in England to Hungarian-Slovak parents. She grew up in a musical environment - her father Andrej was a well-known musician and banjoist playing traditional jazz. Petra was spending hours with him at his music rehearsals and concerts since childhood, and that determined her future.
For the first time she performed at the Sacramento Jazz Festival in the USA at the age of 18. That was the beginning of her professional career as a jazz singer.
She sang with swing big bands (Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra, Prague Swing Orchestra) and in 2008 she established her own "Petra Ernyei Quartet" - CD So Many Stars.
Petra has been performing on Czech as well as on international stages, she
participated in Jazz festivals at
home and also abroad, in recent years she and her musicians performed in
Germany, England, Austria, Norway, Hungary, Portugal, Bulgaria, Moscow and
Athens.
Petra Ernyei is coming now with three new projects - Petra Ernyei & Jazz SIX, Petra Ernyei from Prague with love - Jazz Duo and Jews in Jazz - Jewish authors in jazz (Gershwin, Rogers and Hammerstein, etc).
