Bio

Coming together in the fall of 2003, Petri's Day Off began as a group of friends who wanted to perform at their high school. Having spent hours rehearsing for their first performance, they realized how well their playing styles fit together and decided to devote more time to thier music. The band soon developed their own sound and style. Learning that they could play at their high-school's upcoming battle of the bands, they realized they needed a name. The band had just gotten back from Wendy's with a small pterodactyl that now hangs from the Teal's rear view mirror, and, in a Land Before Time related twist of fate, the name "Petri's Day Off" came about. After high school, the band members went away to college, and upon returning to Seattle for the summer, they came to realize that the music they were playing wasn't going to be a temporary thing. Petri's Day Off recorded a six-track CD which featured all original material that brought together a style developed from all the member's musical interest. Petri's Day Off plays a mixture of what they listen to, and then extends their favorite styles. Their influences include everything from Pearl Jam to Something Corporate to Death Cab for Cutie to Led Zeppelin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Genre lines are not blurred, they are broken, and they instead seperate music into two categories: good and bad. For Petri's Day Off. it's all about the music.
