Bio

Pets in Trees is the musical heartchild of Daneyal Siddique that was born in 2001, named as an anagram of SFs Pine St in honor of the street upon which he and fellow musician, Joel Case began their musical journey that was the basis of Pets in Trees sound for nearly a decade. The duo recorded and released a self-tilted debut EP in 2003, followed by a full LP release in 2008 called Songs for a Mango Flavored Girl. The creative and literal distance that began to grow between Joel and Dan came to a turning point for the band in early 2011 when Joel decided to focus on other projects and Dan began the search for the new Pets In Trees creation. As if by some force of nature, the new beginning of Pets in Trees was spearheaded by yet another SF street, this time it was Steiner St. (the anagram for Steiner St actually has tree in it twice, as if to express a Pets in Trees rebirth). The Steiner St. house brought together the musical energy of Dan Siddique, Chris Hughes, Dave Brulio , and Jonny Cat to create the basis of the new Pets In Trees sound in its true expression, free form jam. They share a firm belief in the documentation of their evolution and are currently working on some new releases, both live and studio. With their mutual capabilities to express through a variety of instruments and a broad community of talented special guests, each live experience with PIT is one that is as unique as the audience with which it engages, an open communication of musical unity that organically serves an ever changing experience of live jam and full circle participation with every audience at every show.
