"The Metro Times"

"Dark, but still, er, indie themes with vocals that'd do Kim Gordon mighty proud." - The Metro Times

"Eat This City Blog"

Pewter Cub. I’d heard a bunch of people talk about them and somehow I was never in a room at the same time. Friday at the Belmont, they definitely impressed me. Female fronted with some keyboard and shoegazy guitar work. At some point I remember thinking that they were one guitar pedal away from being a fantastic shoegaze band.-JRC - Eat This City Blog

"Deep Cutz, Jeff Milo"

"...the exhilaration of finding a band like Pewter Cub, conjuring the stirringly raw and guileless sounding basement-aesthetic that’s been hard to come by in post-2000-indie-rock (think early Guided By Voices, a more-surfy Young Marble Giants, or the caustic synth garnish of The Fall)...the Hamtramck [trio] started [as a duo] in August '05 and render an eloquent, heartfelt fuzz-rock, minimalist in its rhythms and straight to the point with its dreamy hooks, brazen booms, synth buzzes and hypnotic vocal tones." - Real Detroit Weekly

"780.00s Blog"

Pewter Cub's set was really good last night, all moody and cool. If you know me, you know that it takes a hell of a female vocalist to impress me, so when I say that I loved Regan Lorie's dark, haunting voice, you know that's saying something. Scott Sanford's bass and guitar playing are impressive; his fingers fly over the bass just as quickly as on the guitar. Dave Jennings on drums smashes out the heartbeat of their powerful songs. Look for their record soon, after what I heard last night, it's sure to be great.

"Detour Blog"

"Minimalistic. Lo-fi. DIY. These are all relatively accurate descriptions of Pewter Cub. Clickity-clack drums, dark melodies, and super-trebly guitars give off a less sing-songy version of Times New Viking vibe — kind of what we imagine Helium’s four-track demos to sound like instead. Either way, it’s pretty cool stuff." --Ryan Allen, Detour
