Elton John meets Chet Baker

Biography

Recorded in New Orleans just before Katrina and completed in Nashville
six months later, Pez Wilson's  debut CD is named for a Gulf Coast town
swept away by the hurricane. Traversing the territory between pop and
country, Waveland 's bitter-sweet songs juxtapose the memory of small
town life against the search for identity in a distant city.

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Wilson has lined up some
major players from the pop/country axis for this ground-breaking album,
including guitarists Jeff King (Faith Hill), Shane Theriot (Jewel), and
the legendary Tommy Moran (Dr. John).

Pez Wilson now lives in Los Angeles, where he continues his work
scoring music for film and theater.

Lyrics

Broken Rose

Written By: Pez Wilson

I broke a rose off at the stem
Did it make me a man?
There's other flowers bold and beautiful
But how could I risk losing you

When I look in your eyes
All I see are my smoky lies
Truth not told hurts so much more
I don’t know which way to go

What a foolish guy
What a foolish guy
What a foolish guy

Hope that this rose will survive
Hope that it’s stronger than I
How could I risk it on some pretty face?
Could never mean as much as you

Now when I look in your eyes
All I see are my smoky lies
Truth not told hurts so much more
I don’t know which way to go

What a foolish guy
What a foolish guy
What a foolosh guy

What a fool am I
Gonna make her cry
Oh my, oh my
