The best kept secret in music

"Triple D. Productions"

Dear Phenecia,

I would like to thank you for Participating in the Hood Kings of Comedy Part 2 show. You brought the house down! I have received so many comments about the Plus Size section of the store!! You are a beautiful person and you bring so much more to the stage than just jokes and laughter, you have a great stage presence and you know how to keep the audience entertained. I have never met anyone such as yourself who can bring a room full of people to tears without using one word of profanity. You were able to cater not just to our middle aged and older crowd , but to our younger crown as well. Most people stated that stated that they never enjoed comedy with profanity but they enjoyed you a great deal. I am still receiving phone calls about your performance. Phenecia you are a great comedienne, keep up the great work. - Erica Dickerson

"St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital"

I would like to tell everyone about a rare Jewel in the comedy world, Phenecia Banks! I invited Mrs. Banks after seeing her at a private event to perfom at St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital for our Senior Resource Day. She entertained a total of 500 seniors and they enjoyed every moment. She has an uncanny ability to connect with her audience and her stage presence is awesome. She talked about various subjects such as dieting, marriage and the life of the elderly as it related to her parents, and she did so without uttering one word of profanity, something rarely seen now a days. I have received numerous calls form those who attended the event wanting Phenecia's contact information so they could hire her. Mrs. Banks is a comedian to be watched in the future and I would gladly reccommend her to anyone in both private and corporate sectors interested in a comedy act with class and good taste. - Loretta Bibbs-Hughes

"The Country Club of Jackson"

Dear Phenecia,

On behalf of the lady golfers at the Country Club of Jackson. I would like to thank you for your outstanding performance at our closing night function. We enjoyed your comedy and found ourselves still laughing long after the show. You are a terrific comic and we loved your spirit and energy, not to mention the many topics you were able to share with us and make funny. We had a great time that night, and you were a key part to making the whole evening enjoyable. We will highly recommend you to others looking for lots of laughter. - Wendy Zaggy

"Crossroads Presbyterian Church"

Dear Phenecia,

Once again the Annual Spaghetti dinner Fund Raiser was an huge success. We've been holding spaghetti dinners for the last ten years and we've never enjoyed this kind of success until you started performing stand-up comedy for us.

This leads me to your amazing performance. We have a number of elderly members who were lauging so hard I was concerned for their health. That may be a little exaggeration, but the fact that your humor brought joy and success to our event isn't one. Your ability to be edgy, hilarious and clean is a rare combination for comedians these days. Phenecia we are lucky and blessed that you have agreed to perfom during our Spaghetti Dinner the last two years. I hope we are fortunate enought to have you again. - Ken Spera

Still working on that hot first release.

Funny! Dynamic! Inspirational! Real! These words perfectly describe the comedic essence of Funny Girl, Phenecia Banks. Never before has a comedian touched our hearts and souls with the gift of laughter as only Phenecia does.

Phenecia, an ordained minister, blends the creativity and humor of God with the reality of everyday life. In 2001, her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was given 6 months to live. Phenecia began making up jokes about her mom’s cancer as a way to lift her mom’s spirits, which left her in stitches. That was 5 years ago and her mom is still alive and well. In 2003, Phenecia decided that if laughing at a real life issue such as cancer could help her mom, laughter could help others as well. Phenecia decided to step out of the box and began performing in comedy clubs all over the nation. A bright new star was on the horizon and she hasn’t stop shining yet. “I think laughter is great medicine, it makes you feel better no matter what you’re going through.” “I think whatever we can laugh at whether it’s ourselves, racism, cancer, or just life in general, we can overcome. Laughter is a powerful weapon..”

Not only has her comical outlook provided an outlet for those facing real issues such as dieting, cancer, religion, and marriage, but her “clean and edgy” presentation has appeal that has revolutionized comedy “I talk about everyday issues that anyone can relate to, which is why my comedy is loved by all ages.” No matter what the venue, Phenecia’s jovial, bubbly personality is sure to leave the audience uplifted, inspired and doubled over.

Phenecia recently performed at the 2007 Las Vegas Comedy Festival (Best of the Road and Future Hot List stages) in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2005, Phenecia fulfilled a dream of performing on the stage of the legendary Apollo Theatre. In 2005 she also performed at the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival (Sierra Mist, Comcast 8, Urban and ladies showcases). She placed first in the 2005 Belle Notte Comedy competition. Phenecia was also 1st runner-up in the 2005 Cool Jerks Comedy competition as well as the 2004 Joey’s Comedy Club Competition.
