Lyrics

When You Walk (Isaiah 43:2)

Written By: Phil Berwick

(Chorus)
When you walk through the water / you will not be drowned
You will not be drowned / When you go through the fire
You will not be burned / you will not be burned

I am the Lord / The Holy One of Israel
You have been honored / you’re precious in my sight!
(Chorus)….

My God is He / who keeps me from falling
Jesus my King / Helps me in the fray!
(Chorus)…

My God is He / who laid down His life for me
Jesus my Savior / Sends angels my way!

Rise

Written By: Phil Berwick

In this world you shall have tribulation
But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world
In this world you shall have tribulation,
But I’ve not given you a spirit of fear
But a sound sound mind.

Rise Rise Rise up above
You soldiers of the living God
Rise Rise Rise up above
You sons and daughters of the King

Rise Rise Rise take your stand we’re taking back our promised land
Here we come; we’re coming in the name of the Living God. Repeat

Here we come, take our stand
Take the sword out of the sheath, and take it in our hand.

Stand and see the salvation of God
Stand and see the salvation of the Lord, and of our God

And He makes, He makes me to stand before His throne
repeat

The Elm Tree Grove (Greater Love)

Written By: Phil Berwick

I walked down to the elm tree grove, and I climbed up an old elm that I know.
I reflected back to before I was born, in the planning stages, in the morning storm.
And I thought about the ways of the world,
Of an eagle high up in the sky of a boy with a girl.
And the reason it's good to be is reflected in the seasons and in the tree,
And this is how I know God's love, in that He laid his life down for us.

Greater love has no one than to lay his life down, than to lay it down.
Greater love has no one than to lay it down for his friends, for his friends.

I walked down to the riverside and I sat down on a rock deep and heavy down inside,
And I thought about the ways of the world, of a serpent upon a rock,
And of a boy with a girl.
And I wondered what he made it all for, So much starvation, all the nations at war.
And the reason it's plain to see is reflected in the seasons and in the tree.
And this is how I know God's love, in that he laid His life down for us.

Greater love has no one than to lay his life down, than to lay it down.
Greater love has no one than to lay it down for his friends, for his friends.

And I went out to where the lonely were, hiding in the dark of the corners,
Sleeping on the curb. And I wondered what happened to His love.
It hadn’t seemed to come upon them from up the sky above.
And He said to me don't you know the truth, my love can't spring out of a cloud boy,
It's got to come from you.
And the reason it's good to be is reflected in the seasons and in the tree,
And this is how I know God's love, In that He laid his life down for us.

Greater love has no one than to lay his life down, than to lay it down.
Greater love has no one than to lay it down, for his friends, for his friends.

Month of March

Written By: Phil Berwick

Here comes the month of March, and Lovely Little River never froze.
You know where Lovely Little River goes.

Here comes the month of April when our baby came with the wind.
You know where Lovely Little River begins, in your heart.

Down on the banks by Salt Creek somehow some creatures still survive.
The creek is dead but they're alive.

Over by the quarry my friend saw a Red Tailed Hawk.
John says wait till dark, you’ll hear the owl call.

This song this is my story just as long as I’m living here,
You’ll find me down Lovely Little River.

Now in the winter and fall, in summer and in Spring,
I’ll give the glory to my King.

A brief explanation of this song and Salt Creek used to be called 'Lovely Little River" by the northern Illinois Potowatomi Indians. They were a spiritual folk who gave great reverance to the Great Spirit, and considered their rivers gifts from above. There is a legend that a donkey laden down with salt became mired in Lovely Little River and the salt disolved, hence the white man's name change to Salt Creek. Presently Salt Creek/Lovely Little River is a handy sanitary canal. I had a canoe-athon once to save Salt Creek.

Red-Wing Blackbird

Written By: Phil Berwick

Down in the swamp, down in the bog,
Down in the marsh in the morning fog
A Red Wing Blackbird sings a mournful song
Man is fallen, the garden's gone

Instrumental

Out in the forest where the big trees used to be
They bulldozed down every single tree
And while these things are going on, they don’t hear
That you can’t replace them
You’ve taken the good dirt out of there

And down by the river where pure water used to flow
They poisoned it, anything goes
And while these things are going on, oh don’t you see
That there is a river that flow eternally

Instrumental

There’s coming a brand new heaven
There’s coming a brand new earth
Nature will be freed again; it says so in the word
And in the meantime, you can be born again
Wouldn’t you like to know Him
As your best friend

‘Cause you’ll hear Him ‘above the city
You’ll see Him in the clouds
I’m gonna jump up on the roof and I…I’ll cry out loud
And the angels will be singing that joyful tune
Yeshua is coming
And He’s coming soon

Instrumental
