Phil has produced the first of seven Jazz / Blues Volumes to be released. Influenced by: Jazz, Bebop and Hardbop Artists such as: Joe Pass, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, John Coltrane, Wes Montgomery, Albert King, B. B. King, T-Bone Walker, Tal Farlow, Kenny Burrell, and many others in the Jazz and Blues genre.

Bebop, hardbop, cool jazz and soul jazz with a sense of blues streaming through best describes the personality of new jazz artist Phil Henry.
Phil Henry’s style is simple and open for experimentation; you can hear this when listening to Henry performing melodies and solos in his own compositions. The comps have structure, yet everyone performing the songs can fire from improvisation.
Phil Henry uses a pick almost exclusively on Phil Henry Jazz/Blues Vol. 1 and Precious Time Christmas Jazz, Jazz/Blues Vol. 2. Henry also plays finger-style, enabling him to execute his harmonic concepts more effectively. Henry’s energetic Jazz/Blues sound is performed using Fender Stratacaster, Ibanez, a special made New York Pro, and other box types of guitars. Henry uses conventional technique and very seldom covers any sonic territory in his live performances. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are series of seven Henry hopes to culminate and express his writing styles and concepts with a sense of tradition. Henry is now recording Vol. 3 to be released in November 2008.
Phil Henry is a New York based Jazz/Blues Guitarist. Henry has dedicated the last decade to performing as a studio musician and producer. Henry has logged countless studio hours recording, composing and producing his latest albums and music for film, television, game development and multimedia production catalogs for future use.

Henry is an experienced performer. He has traveled most of the country (US) performing in cities such as Las Vegas and Reno.
Phil Henry is also a great (supportive) blues side-man when dealing with different types of blues grooves such as shuffle, slow blues and straight blues always adding momentum to the group or artist he is supporting. Henry has many blues style recordings in his game development catalog. You can hear one of them in “Missing you this Christmas” Precious Time Christmas Jazz, track included in this EPK.
