Philip Henchie

Philip combines traditional country music concepts with acoustic guitars generally plugged through reverse delays and reverbs. It's hard to define a specific genre that Philip's music fits into. His sound, at it's loudest, has been refered to as psychedelic country but it also enjoys a freedom in spirit of flowing into swaggering tremelo twang, gentle finger picked story telling and down right heartbreaking darkness.
Psychedelic country is a pigeon hole Philip Henchie does not mind sitting in. After all, his all time favourite solo songwriter is Gram Parsons and he has spent the formidable years of his youth listening to everything from The Velvet Underground through to Spaceman 3. His passion for psychedelic music has always been solid however he has found a way to refine the sonic ideals into a new personalised sound that stands him aside from most others in his home land.
2011 will see the release of Philip's debut solo offering. He is still in the process of completing the recording.
Philip's music follows no set path. No formula. It is an ever changing expression of his oscillating life. Make of it what you will. Take from it what you want.
