BandAlternativeAdult Contemporary

My music is eclectic yet tuneful. The lyrics mean something, and are not just there for window dressing. I have been told songs sounds like everyone from Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd to John Lennon. The sounds has been described as hippie grunge. Copyright 2007.

Biography

My friends Pete, Pat and I have a band called "The Cactus Element". We produced a demo and an EP, but got a loud round of indifference from radio and record companies. The fact we are "too old" is the main reason I think.

I didn't pick up a guitar until I was thirty, but not long after I discovered I had quite a knack for songwriting. So I've decided to try and promote my songs, and a few I've co-written with Pete, to see if someone out there would like to make something out of them.

I have written a few love or lost love kind of songs, a few political / protest songs, and several songs about the human condition, which is my favourite subject matter.

Some of the best material was co-written with my mate Pete.

Lyrics

Giddyup

Written By: Philip Wakeham

Chorus

Giddyup giddyup giddyup lover oh yeah,
Giddyup giddyup giddyup lover oh baby,
Giddyup giddyup giddyup lover oh angel.

Verse

Goosebumps rise coz you always know,
The tides of the ebb and the flow,
And I like the way you touch your thigh,
Reaching down to the down below.

Chours

Verse

Our lips are locked our limbs entwined,
My heart races as we bump and then we grind,
And I like the way your hair cascades between your shoulder blades,
As I come from behind.

Chorus

Verse

And I like the way your breasts bounce,
As you ride high above me,
Making music bodies roam,
Ride me honey all of the way home.

Chorus and Outro.

The Righteous One

Written By: Philip Wakeham

Verse

Gotta find some way,
To go the other way,
This road we're on,
Works all wrong.
Paranoid hatred,
Love being wasted,
Worship money,
Tan bed sunny.

Chorus

Searching for the path,
To the righteous one,
Hands clenched on my knees,
Ask what's going on?

Verse

Technicolour vision,
Silicon wisdom,
Factories gleam,
What's it mean?
Self interested,
Morals twisted,
Just one need,
Putrid greed.

Chorus

Verse

Blind obsession,
False impression,
Burn inside,
Truth denied.
Dawn of new day,
Lies washed away,
Phoenix rise,
New way flies.

Chorus
