"Time Out"

"Supremely talented Bristol-based singer, PHIL KING. He has a voice to die for." - Time Out, London

"The Independant - Album Review"

"Sensitive, heart-on-sleeve songs…this is a very good debut, whose best tunes create a suitably intimate and melancholy mood, enhanced by laid-back acoustic picking and subtle swells of hammond organ." - The Independant On Sunday

"Jazzwise"

"Since the sad passing of Lynden David Hall the UK scene has been deprived of a male jazz-soul vocalist of genuine acoustic class, minus all the bling and innuendo of lesser talents. This gap is finally being filled by the emergence of Bristol based PHIL KING who's quietly reclaiming jazz-infused soul music of real depth and quality. Now releasing his beautifully funky acoustic solo debut "Leaves", Kings voice reminds one as much of Nick Drake as an impassioned Bill Withers, on songs that are as delicately crafted as they are cliche free; he's also a spellbinding performer, go see him live." - Jazzwise Magazine

"Venue Magazine"

" …local roots star of the year, PHIL KING. In his capacity as lead vocalist with the powerful Forster-King Band, when working solo, or in small ensembles playing his own material, Phil is an outstanding musician of whom much more is going to be heard." - Venue Magazine

"Blues Matters Magazine"

"PHIL KING’S vocals are astounding…an unexpected joy…he will go on to even greater things!" - Blues Matters Magazine
