Phillip Hogg

I hope my music touches lives. The songs I write and perform are often introspective revelations that mean something to me. My hope is that if it means something to me, it might mean something to someone else as well. My songs are very influenced by scripture and by my personal faith walk.

My debut cd is titled "The Invisible Band." Why the invisible band? When I first started to really play these songs in concerts, it was when I was a roady on tour with another band. They let me open for them a few times. When I opened for them, they had all of their musical equipment set up and here I was with just my accoustic guitar. I had a soundtrack that had full band accompaniment, which I had recorded all the parts to before going on the tour. So when I played, it sounded as if the instruments behind me were being played, as if by an "Invisible Band." I referred to myself jokingly as "Phillip Hogg and the Invisible Band" and even worked out a part on the sound tracks where I introduced the various members of my band, which was all me, complete with bass, drum and guitar features. Thus, my debut cd - The Invisible Band.
