"Dreamin' About You"

Phillip Marlan was recently featured in G String's production Fame, where his attractive singing voice was shown off to good effect. This five-track EP, recorded in Sydney, is also a pleasing showcase of Marlan's talents as a singer and songwriter. This isn't for fans of hard rock it's tuneful pop music, easy on the ear, nicely sung and not too elaborately produced, so the voice, rather than sound effects, is the focus, Jamaica, the opening track, has the vaguely Caribbean lilt you would expect and the title track, penned by Marlan, is presented in two mixes and has a pleasant romantic tinge. Amore Mio and Tonight's The Night are the other tracks, completing an EP which is not for the cynical or hard-hearted, but which is aimed at more romantic audiences.
