Bio

Born on the Westside of San Antonio and raised in Converse, TX, Philly Phill Mane is the product of a two parent home in which his hard working parents made much out of very little. Phillip Barnett as the first-born, was groomed into leadership from the very beginning. Due to a few run-ins with authorities, music was far from his mind. At a crossroads in his life, he realized he only had two options left which included the military or jail. He chose music in early 2003. Starting his own record label, Get Money Click Records (GMC), which now has over 20 artists signed to it, he was on his way to something great. Due to a tragic stabbing that took place in February 2004, he was left to his own devices writing raps to make time pass as his wounds healed. With the lost of his job due to his long recovery Philly Phill  once again found himself at another crossroad.

By late 2006 the streets of his hometown were craving for new music so he teamed up with an artist by the name of P.T. and Dj Rapid Ric to release 20,000+ units entitled Count Down Citywhich featured Lil Flip, Yung Mavrick  and others. Success of the venture brought recognition and esteem from peers as well as fans alike. It was not until 2008, deciding to pick up a mic and express himself, the result being his song â€œ9 to 5â€? featuring D. Jackson which received airplay in the United Kingdom before his hometown caught wind of it. He never thought it would go that far,

it was just a song about the life of 90% of America working hard long hours in a suit and tie behind a desk where not most but all of the business is handled.

In 2013 Philly Phill Mane was introduced to G. G. McGee, A&R Director of Grind Time Official Records where a working relationship began and less than a year later he became part of Grind Time Rap Gang.
