Biography


Philly Keyz, born as Keith Frank Nesmith Jr. on Nov. 20, 1989 in the North Philadelphia area. At the age of 4, Keyz always had big dreams to become a great musician but didn’t know it was rap until 2008 and even then he didn’t take it serious because of his time he was putting in making beats. Keyz started making beats in 2007 but have been playing the keyboard and drums since he was 8 yrs old, Keyz hoping by giving his beats out to local rappers and friends he could’ve got his break into the music business. No one took Keyz movement seriously so the summer of ’09 Keyz recorded his first song. He then came to mind if no one was going to take his dreams serious it had to be him. Keyz a firm believer of never “letting your limitations stop your
aspirations”. That what Keyz did by putting his life stories down on paper. Not talking about killing or selling drugs but how he survived time from prison, close death experiences, and growing up in a dysfunctional single parent home in the streets of North Philly with no money. These were other limitations Keyz used to his advantage to get where he needed to go. At the beginning of 2010, Keyz knew that could be his year with his production and writing skills getting better than before. Keyz then wrote a song
“I Ain’t Got Time” to stress the life he is living now, his mission and goals for his company DMT, and to inspire young males around the world to further their dreams in
spite of their limitations all in one song. Due to the theft of Keyz production equipment he hooked up with his friend from school DJ Xtravagant from Maryland to produce the
hard grimy beat. After Keyz heard the track he knew it was time to take his career seriously and head to the next level….
