With the April 1, 2008 release of Phil’s debut comedy album, Pervert, people are taking notice. iTunes featured the album, which cracked the Top 40 in their Comedy Chart and is averaging 4 out of 5 stars from over 30 customer reviews.

Punchline Magazine wrote, “Phil Mazo brings a light-hearted, almost highbrow tone to cringe comedy,” and also featured Phil in its A Tight Five video interview series. Meanwhile, The Serious Comedy Site is “seriously betting Mazo will get ‘discovered’ by some major studio, get his own sitcom or a couple of blockbuster movies.”

Indeed, his recent role in the film High Hopes helped earn it an acceptance into the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, as well as HBO's 2008 New York International Latino Film Festival. In the film, Phil plays two separate characters.

He was one of only ten comedians selected to perform in The New York City Underground Comedy Festival's 2008 Emerging Comic's Contest and recognized by the festival in 2005 as one of the best comedians under 30. He was also a winner of The 2004 Comedy Soapbox Festival.

Phil’s writing has appeared in Sports Illustrated and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Jokes, and his standup is in regular rotation on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Raw Dog Comedy channel and AOL Radio's Comedy Attack! station. His many national radio appearances include Bob & Sheri and a recurring stint on The Joey Reynolds Show.

Phil has also performed at over 65 colleges, including his participation in Comedy Express TV’s Comedy X Tour - broadcast on XM Satellite Radio’s National Lampoon Comedy Radio channel.

In addition to performing, Phil is a cartoonist, musician, and filmmaker whose comedy videos have attracted over 300 subscribers and more than 200 views a day on YouTube alone.
