Some new reviews of tracks from Phil's forthcoming CD 'I Work Nights.' - JJJ Unearthed
I have seen this fellow on and off-stage. He is a big-hearted performer and knows how to draw his audience into a mesmeric space. "Midnite Show" carries elements of the poetic and melodic qualities that infuse his live performances. Very lovely stuff.

Slick yet humble. Groovy yet not too full of itself. This is a great song, an absolute gem, well done PC Smith!

Love Phil's musicianship, his fabulous words and his superb voice. Obviously the result of many years dedication to the music industry!

Phil Smith's "Midnite Show" sounds like the voice that buzzes through my head as I sit in the corner of a sleazy bar sipping the night's last shot of bourbon. The warm, fuzzy guitar solo gently wipes my brain like Tony the bartender wipes the glasses with his favourite chamois. Images of drunken punters, young Nazis and punky Irish bars float through my slowly-fading consciousness, and I realise... "Mr. Smythe, you've done it again!" - jjj unearthed

Bio
Influenced by 60's Beat music, American Cowboy, Stax Soul & Show tunes, Phil Smith is the Eclectic Troubadour, smashing down fences & keeping the listener guessing, smooching & dancing. Phil Smith is a teller of weird tales & songs that seem to wash over one as Ear Candy, but ultimately compel the listener to think. Smith lets his astonishing sense of humour loose within all his compositions, thereby allowing him to wriggle off the hook, and giving the listener something to grin about. He is a rock dog, a sentimental acid-crooner, and an unrepentant loudmouth with Jekyll AND Hyde tendencies, who will draw you in for a visit before you realise you're actually applying for residency. Since the release of 'All Things Considered' in Nov. 07 on his own label, Half-Tone Records, Phil has assembled "The Realistics",a stylish band, but still plays his music as a solo act at every opportunity. Phil's new Solo CD "I Work Nights" is out now.
