Phizicist

Phizicist is Pretoria’s prolific and rapidly growing DJ and producer, regularly performing in Johannesburg’s Newton area and Arcade Empire. His music productions are supported by Helicopter Showdown(USA), Twelv & Thesis(SA),Dubsidia(SPA) and Das Kapital(SA) to name a few.

He has toured with with Totem, Alxr, Das Kapital, Guns N Lazers, Internecine and Bruce Willis?! playing in Grahamstown, P.E, Jbay and Cape Town on “Where the Wild Things Tour”. He has gained support from Griet and Dubstep SA regularly playing their events.

Phizicist, in 2012, managed to play at Oppikoppi Festival, South Africa's largest outdoor festival, on the Red Bull Stage, playing to a crowd of an estimated 6 000 - 10 000 people, with all eyes on him. He's also played alongside other local DJ, Kid Robot at Synergy Johannesburg, which hosted "The Prodigy" as their main headliner, on the Red Bull Stage.

The year ended for Phizicist with a country wide tour alongside 8 local DJ's and 1 international DJ, "Dubsidia", a prolific Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Electronic act from Spain.

In 2009, Phizicist signed to Godsendant Records in the US for his sophomore release "Silence Never Spoke", an eclectic mix of soundscapes, synthesis and ambience complimented by eerie drum patterns and disjointed percussion. The years to follow, Phizicist has released a tiny string of free EP's and done remixes for local legends such as Twelv and Blindfolders.

Phizicist has recently collaborated with Das Kapital on a song which will be released on Das Kapital's "Free Trades" EP. Phizicist has also collaborated with Bassik Assault, a Drum & Bass duo consisting of Pretoria locals, Vexille and King Rat.

He produces music in his room.
