OXFORD -- The Second Annual Oxford Furnace Summer Festival on Saturday, Aug. 11 will finish with a bang.Following a day of free musical entertainment, attendees will be treated to a sensational fireworks display. The all-day event, presented by the Township of Oxford, features seven bands and an array of vendors and food.
Music is the focus throughout the daylight hours as featured acts such as Professor Louie and The Crowmatix and the Sarah Ayers Band take to the stage. In addition, five other bands will turn it up, from Grateful Dead-inspired Jam-Bone to the Good Times Band (playing oldies but goodies), to Paddy and the Pale Boys to Phoenix Down and P.R.Y.D.E. - Star Ledger

Bio
Rock band Phoenix Down is all about excitement in music. This act offers blazing energy, soaring emotions, thought-stirring lyricism and musical upbeatness all in a package of distinctive, original songwriting.
Self-Inspiration
According to Gus Pazas, Phoenix Down member, the band's goal is simply to write music that offers inspiration to the creator (i.e. Phoenix Down) and the listener, as well. If it doesn't offer inspiration and satisfaction to the band, then the song's not ready. If it can't please Phoenix Down, it's not ready to please an audience. That's how this startling act maintains its quality.
Multi-Genre
Phoenix Down defies categorization and that's how it should be. Originality can rarely be put in a box. It shouldn't be. Phoenix Down draws from a wide variety of musical sources to fuse together the elements of its full-bodied sound. “Our music is inspired by all cultures and their fluidness; we pull from just about every genre to make our sound. We are influenced by all great musicians.”
The Artist at Work
Phoenix Down has been tapped to represent the MS Foundation, as well as the American Cancer Society. The band has and will perform a variety of gigs in support of these organizations and is the only band to perform at these charity events. And outside these shows, the band stays busy with regular gigs at a number of different venues. In addition, the group has announced the release of a new full-length. Phoenix Down is currently working with A&R Select, the leading indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
