Fazit: Sauber was uns hier von Phonomik geboten wird. Power, Progressive und Melodic Metal den man hier sehr stattlich und modern eingespielt hat. Die Jungs verstehen es wie man einen Hit nach dem anderen schreibt. Der er ikke nogen tvivl om, at Phonomik har fat i noget helt rigtigt. For til trods for det musikalske materiales forudsigelighed, vinder ”Soul Creeper” på sin voldsomt gode lyd og Dihmans stærke vokale præstation. Jeg vil endda gå så langt som at sige, at Phonomik meget let kunne gå hen og blive det nye svar på Volbeat. PHONOMIK was founded by Michael (bass), Shane (vocal / guitar) and Kenneth (guitar) in the summer of 2006 - all residents of the southern part of Denmark. They had a common dream of reaching out to the masses through music. Their ambition and talent was not to be mistaken. They quickly became aware of each other's skills and professionalism and they soon recognized the band's immense potential. These qualities provide the solid foundation that drives PHONOMIK even today.
Around New Year 2006/07 the band recorded their first demo with Kruger (drums) under the name PHON. The EP consisted of two songs written by Shane. Already 6 months later, they started recording their debut album "Soul Creeper". During the recording, they became aware of the benefits of having a unique band name. They extended the PHON, which is a synonym for decibels, with MIK which has a powering effect of a word. And PHONOMIK was baptized.
Kruger played drums in the band until February 2010 where he was replaced by Rune after a unanimous decision.
PHONOMIK have financed all of their projects on their own which categorizes them as "independent" artists. This means they can set a course of no compromise for their musical endeavors. But they also face the risk of running into the countless dead ends in the music industry. Unfortunately this occurred several times through failed agreements with unfortunate working partners. The consequence has been that the band was forced to postpone their world-wide-release of their debut album Soul Creeper to March 2010. However the tide has been running high and the band's reputation precedes them.
PHONOMIKs upcoming album, which is scheduled for late summer 2010, is already anticipated by many with great interest.
