Bio

Many of their interesting and well thought out lyrics and melodies play back in your head with interlocking guitar, bass and drum riffs. Within a show you'll hear driving rock, tasteful ballads, and spit-shined, weirdly danceable pop tunes. New, fresh, spontaneous, adventurous...simply put, not background music.

Mark Kanning(guitar/vocals) blew into Seattle in 1994 on an especially strong West wind from Shelby, Montana. While growing up among the gophers and tumbleweeds, he cut his teeth on a multitude of musical instruments and styles in an attempt to keep up in the extended family jams that frequently broke out in his home. Mark brought all of that with him to Coffee-ville where he's sat behind a drum kit, bass, guitar and mandolin in an array of musically schizophrenic bands that have played up and down the West coast.

Will Henry(bass) was born in a big military hospital on a small Pacific Island. After moving many times he ended up in Seattle where he has spent the second half (so far) of his life. Will, energetic and experienced, has played music all over the western U.S. and Canada on big stages in little towns, little stages in big towns, big stages in big cities....you get the picture. Music has put him on the radio, on the road, on the dole and occasionally up a creek. Playing all types of popular music, his last stint was several years with one of Seattle's most acclaimed country bands, The Swains.

John Heile(drums) was born in Chicago, Illinois and got his start playing in wedding and dance bands, as well as a few jazz trios and blues bands, where he learned to play many different styles of music. With a pretty heavy musical tool belt, John left Chicago to play in R & B, Rock, Ska/Reggae, and Pop bands in Boston, Los Angeles and, finally, Seattle
