"Taxi Drivers - Album Review"

Although there is a variety of styles this album comes as a complete and enchanting piece..
the songs are a bit dark and morbid but if you check out the meaning of Phototaxis( movement that occurs when a whole organism moves in response to the stimulus of light)
you find that you react in a positive way..just like the trees are growing up, you'd feel enlightened.. - Leon Feldman

"Night time"

Phototaxis performing in a special night when the "banana republic" is on fire
and announce that this is the last party on earth..
all this while they are playing great and stirring Bristol/Tel Aviv trip hop.
when i close my eyes, and move from side to side, hypnotized by the lead singer voice and the melancholic repetitive beats and all the energy of the group
i fill flash backs: Massive Attack,Portishead,Moloko etc..
inside this trip you'll find reggae ,black soul, and viennese cabaret. - Michael Rorberger

"Electronic and organic"

Combining human emotion and the cold maw of computers, Phototaxis will rock the stage at the Tel Aviv Music Festival.

It makes perfect sense for electro-soul band Phototaxis to utilize the showcase of the Tel Aviv Music Festival to unveil their debut album Pretty Ugly next week. Because if any music epitomizes the city’s cerebral and physical collision of esoteric yet accessible sounds and ideas, it’s the weirdly enchanting compositions that Tel Aviv indie renegades Itai Tsuk and Yael Feldinger bring to the mix.

Drawing inspiration in equal parts from the dreamy electronics of Portishead and the rhythmic propulsion of Massive Attack, but doused in soulful vocal gumbo concocted by Feldinger’s Etta James meets Billie Holiday goose bump-inducing timbre, Phototaxis proves that human emotion and the cold maw - DAVID BRINN

Bio

Phototaxis occurs when an organism moves in response to the stimulus of light.

Phototaxis was born in 2007, when Itai and Yael first wrote a song called "Deja Vu".

We both felt that we captured a real moment, and then we started working every day, writing songs and creating our debut album - 'Pretty Ugly'.

Our music is influenced by different styles and musicians, like Etta james,Radiohead,Danger Mouse, Karen Dalton, Urban Species, Gilberto Gil, Black Keys, M.Ward, Dead Weather and the list goes on.....

We preformed more than 100 shows in festivals and clubs across Israel.

Now we want to go one step further, and start touring Europe.

We just finished recording our second album which was produced by Eddie Stevens (Zero 7, Moloko, Sia, etc'). We feel that the music in this album will be electrifying! We promise you nothing but the best!!
